NOTE: CACs are special education advisory committees with a broad set of responsibilities. Each Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is required to have a CAC and they operate according to CA Education Code, the Local Plan, their approved operating bylaws, and the Ralph M. Brown Act. There are 122+ SELPAs with CACs across California. The role of the CAC and the voice of our community is critical to ensuring the rights of students.
